Reforming and restoring equality to America's immigration laws – arguably the most significant thing Congress will do this year – is much like the legendary Gordian knot. The goal is clear, but untangling the threads to shape a clear and fair path to the goal is murky.
On March 21 2013, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (D-IL), along with Rep. Joe Heck (R-NV), introduced the Jobs Originating through Launching Travel (JOLT) Act, a bipartisan initiative designed to create jobs, reform outdated visa laws, and increase national security.
Drop Visas for Poland!
Not only is it embarrassing that Poland still isn't included in this program, but it's also unethical that visa applicants get charged an absurd amount for just applying in person regardless of whether a visa is granted or not! It's no wonder the international opinion of the US continues to be unfavorable and we continue to treat one of our strongest allies as a second class country. Pathetic.
